| Many litecoin network mainly changes from feathercoinon the timings and amounts involved with the transaction validation process.
The network will automatically change to the difficulty of (total amount of super computing power needed to create a new block in the chain, validating endusers transactions) so that a new block is created every 2 minutes ; 5 times less than the new feathercoin network. Although this may appear really low, with current internet connections and potential latency involved, it allows users/merchants waiting for payment confirmations to react faster to a payment transaction. (Merchants willing a heavy, strong validation may still wait for more confirmations by the network).
In order to super quickly react to a burst or heavy loss in overall computing power bring to the network, it will adjust this difficulty all the time("retargetting") every 50 blocks (around 1 hour between changes, when total hashing power gets high enough for small variations over time). This should prevent terracoin miners (users running "mining" applications on their terracoin clients) from being altered trying to solve a block (validating transactions) when huge mining farms went off the network. Over time, this should also bring a smooth transaction validation rate to the network.
