| From the moment you walked into Detroit Fanfare you could feel the excitement. While many other comic cons have become all about films and TV, appearances by wrestlers or D list celebs, Fanfare was about comic books! It was an old style show where cans could get up close and personal with some of their favorite creators and talk about the comic book scene. It was a homecoming of sorts for many Detroit area comic creators including Guy Davis, Vince Locke, Arvell Jones, Carl Lundgren, Mike Netzer, Mike Okamoto, James O Barr, Gary Reed, Greg Theakston, Cliff Van Meter, Jim Starlin, and Mania own Rob Worley.
