| I'm not much of an expert. I've never been a runner when I lived anywhere really cold. Though I do know that there's great solution to the inside of your throat hurting from breathing in cold air. The only that worked for me when I used to ski was to wear a neck warmer pulled up over my face. The first winter I ran outside I kept a log to help me keep track of what worked clothing wise in various temperatures. I refer to that still several years later.
